I have always said that shopping for jeans and bathing suits made for some of the most frustrating days of my life! That was of course before I found the store(s) that have my favorite style(s)…now I can’t wait to see what is coming out next! Jeans have been around forever. They have evolved from being primarily a man’s article of clothing to a must have in every woman’s closet. Dress them up or down, with the perfect fit, style and color you will find yourself wearing them all the time.

Tall or short you will want to examine your body type and then choose your jeans accordingly. The most important factor in choosing the perfect pair of jeans is in the rise. The rise is the area from the waistband to the crotch. This is the area that ensures a good fit because it can’t be altered.

Stretch jeans mold to any body type so be sure not to wear them to tightly. They don’t look great on everybody.

Boot cut jeans are the way to go if you are hippy. The cut of the jean can help to balance your hips and thighs.

Flared jeans tend to shorten the leg line so this may be a great choice if you are looking to downplay your height a little.

Tapered or straight leg jeans accentuate the width of the hip so avoid these unless you are very thin.

The low-rise. If you have a thick or heavy mid section, avoid the low-rise styles. You don’t want to end up with spill over at the top of the waistband. No matter how great the jean this will ruin it! Try a mid rise; this will keep your belly from bulging.

Flap pockets, extra zippers and heavy embellishments on the backside will only enhance your tush, so choose accordingly. If you have no butt, go for these. If you need to downplay your backside stay away from them.

The wash or color of the jeans is important too. Wearing a light color jean will make you look heavier. Dark is dressier better and a bit more versatile. You can wear dark jeans in day or pair with heels at night.

The most important thing to remember when shopping for jeans, don’t give up! Try, try, try on…success will come!
